Abstract:
The invention relates to a humidification exchanger (1) for a fuel cell. Said exchanger is coupled to the cathode exhaust gas flow and the gas supply flow of a fuel cell. Heat and humidity from the cathode exhaust gas flow (20) are received in an accumulator material (21) and are conveyed to the gas supply flow (30) of the fuel cell by virtue of sorption. The accumulator material (21) is alternately contacted by the cathode exhaust gas flow (20) and the gas or surrounding air supply flow (30). The humidification exchanger is configured as a sorption wheel (10). Humidity is transmitted by means of rotation of the sorption wheel (10). The accumulator material (21) is a humidity-absorbing granulated material. The unit of membrane and electrodes pertaining to the fuel cell is protected against drying-out by withdrawing the humidity from the outgoing air of the cathode (20) and by humidifying the supplied air (30).
