Abstract:
The present disclosure describes a bag for organ packing for controlling hemorrhages caused by an abdominal trauma having a shape configured to surround at least a portion of an organ of a patient. The bag (1) is formed from a multilayer material comprising a microperforated inner layer (2); a watertight outer layer (4) surrounding the microperforated inner layer (2); and a porous intermediate layer (3) filling an intermediate region between the microperforated inner layer (2) and the watertight outer layer (4). Because of this configuration,when the bag (1) surrounds an organ of a patient, the application of a negative pressure through the watertight outer layer (4) to the intermediate region between the microperforated inner layer (2) and the watertight outer layer (4) causes the compression of the organ and the extraction of fluids present on the surface of the organ.
