Title:
DEVICE FOR PREDICTING COMBUSTIBLE GAS ERUPTION DURING EARTHQUAKE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2017/138451
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a device for predicting combustible gas eruption during an earthquake, the device being capable of effectively and easily predicting "an event in which combustible gas separates from an aquifer and erupts above ground during an earthquake." A first device 1 for predicting combustible gas eruption is provided with a sealed observation well 2, a pressure gauge 21, and a data processing device 201. The sealed observation well 2 is disposed in the vicinity of a building 205, and is configured from a strainer tube 11, a round tube 12, and a sealing lid 13. The strainer tube 11, in which a plurality of holes are formed to take in groundwater, is buried so as to penetrate an aquifer 103, which is an artesian aquifer in which a combustible gas is dissolved. The data processing device 201 calculates the rate of change of pressure detected by the pressure gauge 21, and determines the occurrence of an abnormal pressure change on the basis of the calculated rate of change. This abnormality determination makes it possible to effectively and easily predict the eruption of combustible gas above ground that is associated with the occurrence of an earthquake.
