Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for removing shells from shellfish, capable of safely removing a hard and tightly closed shell and easily separating shellfish meat from shellfish such as clams and oysters. For this purpose, the device for removing shells from shellfish comprises: a linear main body, the front end of which has a blade; a rotating body, the front end of which is connected to an intermediate portion of the main body, and the rear end of which rotates such that the rear end can be folded onto the rear end of the main body; and a cutting unit having a compression end extending from either the front end of the rotating body or an intermediate portion of the main body, and a cutting end extending from the other of said front end of the rotating body or intermediate portion of the main body, wherein the compression end and the cutting end are spaced apart from each other or contact each other in response to a relative rotation between the main body and the rotating body. The device for removing a shell from shellfish according to the present invention enables a user to easily and safely remove a shell and separate shellfish meat from the shell, and in particular enables the user to pick up and remove a portion of the closed shell such that the removed portion does not fall into the shellfish and thus does not adhere to the shellfish meat. Thus, the device of the present invention enables the user to easily open the shell through the cracked portion of the shell without cutting a hinge.
