A ground taking device (10) comprises: a ground penetrating unit (1) in which rotatable agitating blades (13) are respectively attached to both side parts of a penetrating rod (11), and a penetrating protrusion part (12) integrated with the rod (11) is attached above the agitating blades (13); a cylindrical body receiver (2) which has, in the middle thereof, a through-hole (24) through which the rod (11) passes, and is taken into and buried in the ground while being engaged with the penetrating protrusion part (12); and a cylindrical body (3) the center of which a hollow part through which the rod (11) passes passes through, and which has an outer diameter smaller than the inner diameter of the upper part of the cylindrical body receiver (2), and is mounted or housed in the cylindrical body receiver (2) and taken into and buried in the ground, the ground taking device leaving the cylindrical body receiver (2) and the cylindrical body (3) in the ground and pulling out and recovering the ground penetrating unit (1). Consequently, low-strength small-diameter to large-diameter cylindrical bodies, for example, applied to geothermal utilization can be taken into the ground simultaneously with excavation.
