Abstract:
The invention relates to a device (5; 105; 205; 5.1) for braking a rotating shaft (2) of an arrangement (1), in particular of a rail vehicle, having a rotating eddy current brake (6; 106; 206; 6.1), wherein a connecting section (8a) of at least one rotor (8), which is designed to be suitable for connection to the shaft (2) in a torque-transmitting manner, is provided with a receiving opening (8b) for receiving the shaft (2), and having a shield (7; 107; 207) for magnetically shielding the rotating eddy current brake, wherein at least one shielding part (7a; 107a; 207a; 7a.1; 7a.2; 7a.3) consists of an anti-magnetic material. In order to improve the braking action of the device in a structurally simple manner, provision is made for the at least one shielding part (7a; 107a; 207a; 7a.1; 7a.2; 7a.3) to magnetically shield the receiving opening (8b).
