Abstract:
A diesel engine (1) mounted, for example, on a ship, comprising bearing damage detectors (13), wherein fragment collection members (21) capable of receiving lubricating oil dripping from bearings (7) and collecting the fragments of bearing metals (12) mixed in the lubricating oil are disposed at a lower position between the bearings (7) supporting the shaft part of a crankshaft (3) and a crank arm (5) to which a crank pin (4) is fitted.
