Abstract:
Provided is a disc-type vertical take-off and landing aircraft that can be made to rise precisely even when heavy. The disc-type vertical take-off and landing aircraft 1 is provided with: a skirt 2 having a structure that spreads downward; a disc-shaped rotor 3 that is arranged on the underside of the skirt 2 and that rotates with respect to the skirt 2; and a plurality of blades 4 provided upright on the upper surface of the rotor 3 and arranged radially from the center of the rotor 3. A notch 4a is formed in each of the plurality of blades 4. When the rotor 3 rotates, centrifugal force causes an air flow F to be generated along the blades 4 rotating together with the rotor 3, a flow f of air passing over the notches 4a in the blades 4 in a direction approximately orthogonal to the blades 4 causes the air flow F to swirl, and the disc-type vertical take-off and landing aircraft 1 rises as a result of the air flow F swirling in a spiral while flowing in the radial direction of the rotor 3 along the blades 4 and being discharged downward by the skirt 2.
