Abstract:
In the present invention, a discharge device (10) comprises a voltage-applying circuit (2) in which an output voltage (Vo) is applied to a load (4) including a discharging electrode (41) that holds a liquid (50), whereby the discharging electrode (41) produces an electric discharge. The voltage-applying circuit (2) has a function of varying the magnitude of the output voltage (Vo), and a function whereby a discharge period is switched with the elapsing of time to any of a plurality of periods having different lengths, the magnitude of the output voltage (Vo) being varied in the discharge period.
