According to embodiments, a display apparatus and/or an operation method thereof are disclosed. The disclosed display apparatus comprises a display, a memory which stores one or more instructions, and at least one processor which executes the one or more instructions stored in the memory, wherein the at least one processor executes the one or more instructions to: identify a device controller activated in the display apparatus and a device activated in the display apparatus; determine whether the identified device controller is compatible with the identified device; in response to determination that the identified device controller is compatible with the identified device, control a control signal from the device controller to be directly provided to the device; and in response to determination that the identified device controller is not compatible with the identified device, perform control such that a control signal from the device controller is converted into a control signal recognizable by the device, and the converted control signal is provided to the device.
