Abstract:
This display device is provided with: a BL control parameter calculation unit (224) that calculates BL control parameters from input images; a BL brightness control signal generation block (230) that generates BL brightness control signals from the BL control parameters; and an output unit (225) that outputs the BL control parameters calculated by the BL control parameter calculation unit (224) to the BL brightness control signal generation block (230) immediately before the start of an idle period in which a display control unit is idle.
