Abstract:
The present invention is a display device characterized by including: a display element which includes a light source; and a surface film that is disposed so as to overlap the display element and that is made from a thermoplastic elastomer composition, wherein the thermoplastic elastomer composition satisfies conditions (1) and (2), and the surface film satisfies conditions (3) and (4). (1) The melt flow rate (ASTM D1238, 230°C, 2.16-kg load: MFR) is 30 g/10 min or more. (2) The type-A hardness (instantaneous value) as measured using a method specified in JIS K6253 is 60-90. (3) The thickness is 300 μm to 2 mm. (4) The total luminous transmittance as measured using a method specified in JIS K7361 is 3-60%. The display device according to the present invention enables achievement of excellent appearance and texture in the surface film, enables clear visual recognition of a display when light is emitted, and is capable of sufficiently exhibiting good appearance (decorativeness) of the surface film by configuring the display element to be inconspicuous when light is not emitted. In addition, even in a situation where a display part or an operation part is not visually recognizable when light is not emitted, the display part or the operation part can be recognized through touch by, for example, providing a step to the display part or the operation part. Such a step can be easily formed from a thermoplastic elastomer composition through, for example, injection molding.
