Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of providing a display device having high definition and high contrast through precise local dimming. In order to solve this problem, the present invention is configured as follows. A display device having a display panel and a backlight, said display device being characterized in that the backlight has a light source and an optical sheet group (42, 43, 50), the light source has a light source substrate (32) and LEDs (31) disposed on the light source substrate, the light source is divided into segments in plan view, at least one LED is present in each segment, the light source substrate and the LEDs are covered by a transparent resin (33), and a sheet (45) having honeycomb partitions (60) is disposed on the transparent resin.
