This display panel is provided with: a display functional section (3), which is formed by sandwiching a display functional layer between transparent substrates (14, 58) that are facing each other; and a touch screen section (1), which has lower wiring (20) and upper wiring (30) formed of a conductive metal material, and an interlayer insulating film (11) disposed between the lower wiring (20) and the upper wiring (30), and which is configured by covering the lower wiring (20), the upper wiring (30), and the interlayer insulating film (11) with a protection film (12). The lower wiring (20) of the touch screen section (1) is formed on an observer-side surface of the transparent substrate (14) that is disposed on the observer side. Since the lower wiring (20) and the upper wiring (30) are formed of the chemically stable metal wiring material, and are formed on the transparent substrate (14) of the display functional section (3), excellent environment resistance is achieved by forming the interlayer insulating film (11) and the protection film (12), said interlayer insulating film having excellent water resistance and chemical resistance, and the thickness and weight of an apparatus can be reduced.
