Description:
DISPOSABLE SLEEVE FOR CHILDREN

Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to hygienic products and can be used for hygienic and medical purposes - to protect the children's clothes or the children's arms against dirt in everyday life of a child - at home, on the street, in preschools, in health facilities, in art-centers, in public catering, etc. The claimed disposable sleeve for children can also be used by adults during art-classes, creative activities, cooking, in health facilities, etc.

Background of the Invention The problem of frequent contamination of the children's clothes is known by every parent. It is particularly prevalent at the age of preschool. The preschool period of human's life is a period of active knowledge of everything around him. The best knowledge takes place mainly through play and active movement. Playing and actively moving or through creativity children are so focused on the art-process that they do not pay attention to such little things as dirty forearms and elbows or spots on the sleeve. In addition, the pre-school period is a period of acute respiratory viral infections. These illnesses are accompanied by endless sneezes and coughs. Here, again, the arms and sleeves in the forearm area are fully suffered! Children reflexively clean-up their mucus and use for it anything that comes to hand or rather, by their own hands and arms. And, taking into account the consistency of the nasal mucus, children use for this the area of the forearm - in one move wipe away all mucus. Mothers and preschool teachers note that the children's sleeves are most contaminated in the area of the forearms and elbows. The nature of the dirt is diverse - dust, mucus from coughing and sneezing, food, children's creativity means, etc. Therefore, the development of disposable sleeve for children, which design would takes into account the physiology and pace of children's life, is especially relevant.

The prior art contains the disposable sleeves, which constructions were developed for adults. One of the known sleeves is a protective bracer, which has the form of a sleeve, made of polyethylene and contains a cuff on its one side. The other side of the bracer is soldered or contains additional cuff (utility model patent, No. UA68800, IPC A41D 13/08, publ. 10.04.2012).

Also is known a disposable cuff contained a cylindrical body with two through holes in its ends and the delays, which are mounted in the area of each through holes. The delays prevent sliding of the sleeve's body during the sleeve is used. Meanwhile, one of the delays is capable to maximize seal of relevant through hole. Due to this the disposable cuff can be converted into a garbage bag for its secondary use after it used as a sleeve (CN 104366822, IPC A41D 27/00, publ. 16.12 .2015).

The disadvantage of the protective bracer and the disposable cuff is the unreliable sleeve fixation on the arm during they are used. Use plastic products for sleeve manufacturing do not meet aesthetic and hygienic standards. In addition, plastic products also have low absorbent properties. This could result that the dirty or fluid which did not absorbed on the sleeve, may to contaminate other parts body or other parts of clothes. Such means do not take into account children's physiological characteristics and using features of sleeves. Therefore, the ones cannot be used for protection of children's arms and sleeves.

There is known a dispensable, disposable and reversible forearm protector containing a body of trapezoidal configuration and is made of two-layer composite material. The body of the forearm protector has through holes at its ends, from each of which at some distance are fitted elastic elements. One elastic element is fixed on the wrist of the user and the other one is fixed lower than the elbow. The two-layer composite material comprises a layer of absorbent material (for example, a paper towel), and a layer of thermoplastic material (for example, a plastic tape) (patent for the invention USA 5 542 121, IPC A41D 13/08, publ. 06.08.1996). The disadvantage of the dispensable, disposable and reversible forearm protector is the unadapted design to children's physiological characteristics. Such forearm protector does not into account the specific using features by children. For using of forearm protector by child it is important to protect his forearm and elbow fully. In addition, the elastic element under the elbow will interfere while baby will be eating or having creative class - the elastic element will crush into the child's arm while child's elbow be on a solid surface. This will be a cause for discomfort. Moreover, practical tests have shown that only two elastic elements in the area of the through holes for fixing the sleeve on the arm cannot provide fully reliable and comfortable fixation of the sleeve on the child's arm.

The closest analog is a disposable sleeve, comprising : a main body fabricated in a generally cylindrical shape; the body has a first through hole and a second through hole at the body ends; the main body is made from a non-woven material and provides with elastic elements and elastic loops in the area of each through holes; each of the elastic elements is build-into the main body and each of the elastic loops extend beyond the main body; the main body is made with the possibility of fixing its one elastic element above the elbow and with the possibility of fixing its second elastic element under the elbow (USA 2012/0066816, IPC A41D 27/18, B65H 16/02, A47K 10/42, published on March 22,

2012). The disadvantage of the closest analogue is that such disposable sleeve cannot provide a combination (I) and (II) at the same time, where (I) is protection of the arm or sleeve (as a part of clothes) in the area of whole forearm against water, various dirt and liquids of biological and non-biological origin and (II) is ensuring secure and comfortable fixation of the disposable sleeve on an arm, so that this combination would provide the possibility of using disposable sleeve by a child. The design of the disposable sleeve provides to wear the sleeve on the arm in the elbow area. On the one hand, it limits the protection area as a part of the arm or a part of sleeve in the forearm area is unprotected. On the other hand, this design is not intended and is not comfort for use by children. Children, especially preschool-age children, do not wipe their nasal discharge into the elbow or sleeve in the area of the elbow, because it is physiologically difficult for children. They cannot reach to the elbow with their nose or mouth. Furthermore, the sleeve elastic loops are not used in fixing the sleeve on the arm. They are used during the sleeve is removed from the block and for sleeve removing from the arm after sleeve use only.

Summary of the Invention

The present invention was made according to the prior art described above, and the object of the present invention is to develop a disposable sleeve for children, in which due to the new combination of sleeve elements are achieved the technical effects (I) and (II) at the same time, where (I) is providing reliable protection of the whole forearm or sleeve in the area of the whole forearm from water, various dirt and liquids of biological and non-biological origin, using safe materials, and (II) is ensuring reliable and convenient fixation of the disposable sleeve for children; providing (I) and (II) at the same time would make it possible to use the disposable sleeve by children.

To solve the problem, the present invention provides a disposable sleeve for children, containing a body (1) which is made of non-woven material (7) and has two through holes (2), (3) at the its ends, the shape of the body (1) is close to cylindrical, the body (1) is equipped with an elastic element (4) in the area of the through hole (2), an elastic element (5) in the area of the through hole (3) and an elastic loop (6) in the area of the through hole (2); the elastic elements (4) and (5) ) are build-into the body (1); the elastic loop (6) extends beyond the body (1) in which, in accordance with the present invention, the non-woven material (7) manufactured through spunbond technology and is laminated on its one side with the formation of the laminated layer (8); the laminated layer (8) of nonwoven material (7) is directed into the body (1); the body (1) is made with possibilities of fixing the elastic element (4) on a wrist and of fixing the elastic element (5) over an elbow joint; the elastic loop (6) is made with the possibility of fixation on a finger while the sleeve is wearing. In accordance to the claimed invention, the body (1) completed from the non-woven material (7) manufactured through spunbond technology.

The spunbond or non-woven material (7) manufactured through spunbond technology is a fiber polymer material. The manufacturing technology of such materials allows releasing polymer fibers via filters from polymer melts. The endless filamentous fibers are stretched in the air stream and applied to the moving conveyor. Than the formed polymer filaments are bonded to receive the textile webs of nonwoven material (7). Bonding is done by various ways that are generally accepted for spunbond technology, for example: pricking, impregnating the fibers with binder, thermal bonding on the calender, water jet bonding, hot air bonding and other. The final non-woven characteristics depend on the bonding way. The most optimal non-woven characteristics for manufacturing clamed sleeve shows the non-woven material (7) formed through thermal pricking way. Wherein in some cases for manufacturing claimed disposable sleeves may be used the non-woven material (7) formed through pricking, impregnating the fibers with binder, thermal bonding on the calender, water jet bonding, hot air bonding or their combination, but not limited to them.

According to the claimed invention as a polymer can be used polypropylene but not limited to it. Moreover, for non-woven material (7) manufacturing through spundbond-technology may be used a polymers combination. In addition, in particular cases of invention the non-woven material (7) manufactured through spunbond technology may contain different polymer layers and/or multidirectional polymer layers. These layers may be interconnected during material manufacturing process or after it.

The non-woven materials (7) manufactured through spunbond- technology are widely used in the mass-production diapers, menstrual pads, daily liners, medical masks, shoe covers (surgical bootie), medical hats, surgical shawls, disposable sheets. This confirms the fact that such materials are safe and correspond to sanitary and hygienic norms. The possibility of use such materials for producing various goods for children is approved by relevant government bodies. The non-woven materials (7) manufactured by spunbond-technology are characterized with high elasticity, hypoallergenic and high absorption properties. The non-woven materials (7) manufactured through spunbond-technology are hydrophilic materials and provide good barrier characteristics for various contaminated of biological or non-biological nature.

Practical research has shown that the hydrophilic and absorbent properties of non-woven materials (7) manufactured through spunbond- technology are insufficient during use of non-woven sleeves by children. There is an awful lot of contaminated in the area of babies' forearm. And it is too much even to the top level of hydrophilic or absorbing property of non-woven materials (7). The non-woven disposable sleeves get wet during their use by children.

The claimed invention ensures that the non-woven material (7) manufactured through spunbond-technology is laminated on the one its side with the formation of the laminated layer (8). Here and throughout the non-woven material (7) and the laminated layer (8) are the laminated non-woven material (7), (8). Furthermore, laminating material and laminating way chosen so as to provide water- and air resistance of the laminated non-woven material (7), (8) at the same time. As laminating material may be use any of well-known materials using for lamination, for example, different polymers or their compositions, but not limited of these. Lamination gives to non-woven material (7) the hydrophobic characteristic. Thus, the non-woven material (7), which is use for the manufacture of claimed disposable sleeve, is two-layer material - an upper and a bottom layers. The upper layer is the non- woven material (7) and, as described above, it is fiber polymer material characterized high absorption properties, has a pleasant touch, which is especially important for children. The bottom layer - the laminated layer (8) - is a holistic layer of laminating material characterized high hydrophobic characteristics and providing reliable protection against getting wet. In this, the body (1) of disposable sleeve for children is formed so that the laminated layer (8) of the non-woven material (7) is directed into the body (1). Such sleeve construction provides, on the one hand, contamination absorption, which is getting on the child's arm or sleeve (as a part of clothes) in the area of forearm, and, on the other hand, delay of absorbed contamination on the sleeve directly. The claimed disposable sleeve for children makes it impossible to pollute the child's arm or sleeve (as a part of clothes) in the area of forearm, even if a lot of contamination is too much.

In particular cases of invention implements the laminated layer (8), which is bonding with the non-woven material (7) on its one side, may be covered with additional layer of non-woven material on its other side.

The design of disposable sleeve for children provides the body (1), which has cylindrical shape and two through holes. The body (1) is equipped with elastic elements (4), (5) in the through holes' areas and an elastic loop (6). The elastic elements (4), (5) are build-in the body (1). The elastic element (4) is capable of fixation on a wrist. The elastic element (5) is capable of fixation over an elbow. The elastic loop (6) is capable of fixation on a finger. Such sleeve construction is simple, comfortable and maximum functional. These options are basic criteria for children protection means. A child does not notice presence of the claimed disposable sleeve on his/her arm while it is wearing. The movements of the child are not limited. At this time, the whole forearm is covered with sleeve and reliable protect respectively. The claimed invention provides the possibilities - of the elastic element (4) fixation on a wrist, of the elastic element (5) fixation over an elbow and of the elastic loop (6) fixation on a finger. These possibilities ensured secure fixation of the claimed disposable sleeve on a child's arm.

The technical results are increasing through use additional features, which are used in some cases of invention implementation.

So, for example, in some cases the body (1) may contain an insert (9) fulfilled as an illustrated element of children's genre.

Experts in this area understand that the present invention may be changed and amended, but it will not alter the nature of the invention. Furthermore, the disposable sleeve for children may be completed by different elements and means for increasing of technical results and consumer characteristics. And, consequently, the preferred variations for fulfilling the invention are represented on the drawing and outlined in the description, but these variations are only examples and in no way limited the possibility to create and use a lot of various disposable sleeves, whose essential objective is correspond to the claims. The present invention is illustrated by the following drawings, where Fig. 1 - general view of the disposable sleeve for children in front of;

Fig. 2 - general view of the disposable sleeve for children in back of; Fig. 3 - cross-section of the disposable sleeve for children;

Fig. 4 - the disposable sleeve for children on a holding arm;

Fig. 5 - the disposable sleeve for children on a bending arm.

As shown on figs. 1, 2 the claimed disposable sleeve for children contains the body (1) of cylindrical shape. The body (1) performed with through holes (2) and (3) at the body's ends. In the area of each through holes (2), (3) the body (1) contains the elastic elements (4) and (5), respectively. Furthermore, the body (1) contains the elastic loop (6) in the through hole (2) area. The elastic elements (4) and (5) are build- in the body (1). The elastic loop (6) is projected outside of body (1). Meanwhile, the body (1) is made such than the elastic element (4) is capable of fixation on a wrist, the elastic element (5) is capable of fixation over an elbow and the elastic loop (6) is capable of fixation on a finger. Therefore, in prevalent invention implementation the elastic element (5) is large than elastic element (4). Such sleeve construction provides comfortable and secure sleeve fixation on a child's arm. Furthermore, such sleeve configuration provides reliable protect of the whole forearm against a lot of various contaminated. The simple and functional sleeve construction provides the possibility of use it by children. The body (1) of the claimed disposable sleeve for children is made of the non-woven material (7) manufactured through spunbond technology. The non-woven material (7) manufactured through spunbond technology is well-known material and used for producing a lot of various hygienic means and medical protection means. Its advantages are a pleasant touch, hypoallergenic and high absorption properties. The non-woven material (7) absorbs water, various contaminated and fluids of biological or non-biological nature. The contaminated of biological nature involve, for example, nasal mucus, cough mucus, tears, saliva and other bodily secretions, juice and vegetable fruit, dust in the air and other. The contaminated and fluids of non-biological nature involve, for example, synthetically products used for kids art and other. The non- woven material (7) is cheap making possible use non-woven sleeves as disposable sleeves. Such disposable sleeves are disposable wipes keeping on hand always because they are comfort and securely enshrined on the arms.

Whereas the non-woven material (7) manufactured through spunbond-technology is laminated on the one its side with the formation of the laminated layer (8) for provide reliable protection against various contaminated and fluids of biological or non-biological nature (fig.3). The lamination of non-woven material (7) (manufactured through spunbond technology) from its one side may be provide through spunbond technology too or through any other ways capable ensuring lamination as such. Except for this, laminating material and laminating way selected so that providing to provide water- and air- resistance of laminated non-woven material (7), (8). In additional to the water and fluids of biological or non-biological nature on the laminated non-woven material (7), (8) are detained bacteria. This is of particular importance for young children. As laminating material may be use any of well-known materials or compositions using for lamination, in particular, but not limited to, polypropylene, polyethylene, their mix. The non-woven material (7) and the laminated layer (8) are joined together with glue (do not show on drawings) but not limited to. The body (1) of disposable sleeve for children is formed so that the laminated layer (8) of non-woven material (7) is directed into the body (1) (fig.3). Consequently the surface of the non-woven material (7) (which is polymer fibers material, stretched in the air stream and bonded and characterized high absorbent properties) is an upper layer of the body (1), which remains the outer surface of claimed disposable sleeve for children; the surface of laminated layer (8) (which is holistic laminating material of high hydrophobic characteristics and providing reliable protection against getting wet) - is an bottom layer of body (1), which remains the internal surface of claimed disposable sleeve for children.

Thus ensuring, on the one hand, the claimed disposable sleeve for children absorbs of water, various fluids and contamination, which is getting on the child's arm or sleeve (as a part of clothes) in the area of forearm, and, on the other hand, delay of absorbed contamination on the sleeve directly. The claimed disposable sleeve for children makes it impossible to pollute the child's arm or sleeve (as a part of clothes) in the area of forearm, even if a lot of contamination is too much. In the particular variations of claimed invention the laminated layer

(8), which is bonding with the non-woven material (7) on its one side, may be covered with additional layer of non-woven material on its other side. This may to provide the same tactile sensation and increase comfortable for a child. In other words, the body (1) may be manufactured from three-layer material - two non-woven layers (7) and among them is laminated layer (8) (does not show on drawings).

As shown on figs. 1, 2, 4, 5, the elastic elements (4) and (5) are implemented across the body (1) and build-in via sewing (for example). The elastic elements (4) and (5) may be fulfilled, for example, as a rubber, a cord, a velcro tapes, but not limited on these.

In particular cases of invention the elastic elements (4) and (5) may be mounted with an offset relative to the transversal axis of the body (1) (does not show on the drawings). Meanwhile, the body (1) could have a ledge in the through hole (3) area (does not show on the drawings) for ensuring the most comfortable sleeve wearing. In this case the elastic element (5) is fulfilled with an offset relative to the transversal axis of the body (1). The construction of body (1) contains the elastic loop (6) in the through hole (2) area. The elastic loop (6) is implemented as an elastic tape, which ends are attached to the body (1) in the through hole (2) area. Mainly implementation of invention between the elastic tape ends achieved a clear space. It is made for avoidance torsion of the elastic loop (6). The clear space may be 0.5-1.5 centimeters but not limited to. The avoidance such torsion of the elastic loop (6) provides easiness and comfortable of using the disposable sleeve by children. While a child puts on the sleeve, the elastic loop (6) fixes on a child's finger automatically and without any effort and knowledge. The child puts on the sleeve fast and by himself, without anybody's help.

In the particular cases of invention the body (1) may contain an insert (9) fulfilled as an illustrated element of children's genre (fig. 1). The insert (9) is implemented on the non-woven material (7) and implemented with the non-woven material (7) as a whole. The insert (9) may be fixed on the non-woven material (7) by any way, for example, but do not limited to, via sewing or glued. In other words, the illustrated element of children's genre may be implemented on the non-woven materials (7) manufactured through spunbond-technology. As the illustrated element of children's genre may be use, for example, but not limited to, an image of animated or fairy-tale heroes. The insert (9) provides, on the one hand, consumer attractiveness of the claimed disposable sleeve for the end-users - children. Children prefer use needed and useful means if ones contain their favorite heroes. And, on the other hand, the insert (9) provides an educational function, because a lovely picture of favorite heroes on the claimed disposable sleeve helps parents and kindergarten teachers to wean children to wipe nasal mucus, tears and other contaminated with a hand or an forearm. The claimed disposable sleeve for children are using as follows.

The claimed disposable sleeve for children put on a child's arm via outstretching of arm into the through hole (3) of body (1) (figs. 4, 5). This process continues until the whole hand comes out of the through hole (3) of body (1). At the out-coming moment the elastic loop (6) fixes on one of a child-finger. In the prefer implementation of claimed invention the elastic loop (6) is fixed on the child-middle finger. After the elastic element (5) of body (1) is fixed over an child-elbow and the elastic element (4) of body (1) is fixed on a child-wrist.

While the child-arm in the forearm area is contacted with water, fluids or contaminated of biological or non-biological nature (for example, in cases of acute rhinitis a child wipes away all mucus into the sleeve in the forearm area by reflex), the whole contaminated is absorbed into the non-woven material (7) manufactured through spunbond technology. If these contaminated are too much, the laminated layer (8) blocked permeating of absorbed substance.

The insert (9) is an illustrated element of children's genre and provides the consumer attractiveness of the claimed disposable sleeve and, as a result, the child wishes to save the good looking picture. The child sees the favorite heroes on the disposable sleeve and the child wonders is worth to dirty his heroes (in accordance to the example - if it is wonder to wipe the nasal mucus on the favorite heroes). With a high probability the decision will be to save the good looking insert (9). The technical effects - (I) providing reliable protection of the whole forearm or sleeve in the area of the whole forearm from water, various dirt and liquids of biological and non-biological origin, using safe materials, and (II) ensuring reliable and convenient fixation of the disposable sleeve for children; providing (I) and (II) at the same time make it possible to use the disposable sleeve by children - are achieved during the combination all of the features, in particular: the body (1) is made with laminated nonwoven material (7), (8), thus the non-woven material (7) manufactured through spunbond technology; the body (1) is made with possibilities of fixing the elastic element (4) on the wrist and of fixing the elastic element (5) over the elbow joint; the elastic loop (6) is made with the possibility of fixation on the finger while the sleeve is wearing. Such disposable sleeves are disposable wipes keeping on hand always because they are comfort and securely enshrined on the arms. The claimed disposable sleeve for children is inherently disposable wipe keeping on hand always because it is wearing on the arm. Such disposable sleeve for children is an irreplaceable supplement for each mother, teacher in pre-school and school.
