A door checking mechanism comprising: a movement limiting member configured so as to be attachable to vehicle doors; a check link configured such that one end thereof is rotatably attachable to a vehicle body, said check link extending inside a vehicle door and being relatively movable in the longitudinal direction of the check link, relative to the movement limiting member; a stopper section provided on the other end of the check link extending inside the vehicle door; and an opening adjustment block that rotates relative to the check link. The opening adjustment block includes: a first contact section that comes in contact with the movement limiting member; and a second contact section that faces the first contact section, has a prescribed distance from the first contact section, and comes in contact with the stopper section. The opening adjustment block rotates towards the check link and, when the first contact section comes in contact with the movement limiting member and the stopper section comes in contact with the second contact section, limits the movement of the check link towards the one end side of the check link.
