Abstract:
Provided are a double feeding detection device, a control method, and a control program, with which whether or not to return a fed medium to a placement table can be appropriately determined when the double feeding occurs. The double feeding detection device comprises: a placement table; a feeding unit which feeds a medium placed on the placement table; an ultrasonic sensor including an ultrasonic wave transmitting unit that transmits an ultrasonic wave and an ultrasonic wave reception unit that is arranged to face the ultrasonic wave transmitting unit and generates an ultrasonic signal according to the received ultrasonic wave; a double feeding determination unit which when the signal value of the ultrasonic signal is equal to or higher than a first threshold, determines that the feeding of the medium is normal, and when the signal value of the ultrasonic signal is less than the first threshold, determines that double feeding of the medium has occurred; and a control unit which when the signal value of the ultrasonic signal is less than a second threshold that is smaller than the first threshold, controls the feeding unit so as to return the fed medium to the placement table.
