Description:
DOUBLE-SIDED TOILET COVER BUMPER

Subject of the Invention

The invention relates to a double-sided toilet cover bumper, which has two portions each with a different height and which is positioned on the bottom surface of the seat part of the toilet cover set to prevent the seat part of the toilet cover set from directly contacting the toilet bowl surface.

State of the Art

Today, the use of toilet bowls is commonly preferred in the toilet rooms and bathrooms. Irrespective of the type and model of the toilet bowl, a seat and a cover are present in every toilet bowl. The seat part of the toilet cover set, which prevents direct contact of the user with the toilet bowl surface during the use, is located in the bottom part and is in direct contact with the toilet bowl surface. The bumpers are used in order to tolerate the surface defects on the toilet bowl surface as well as prevent the shifting of the toilet seat on the toilet bowl surface. The bumpers prevent the direct contact between the toilet seat and the toilet bowl by being positioned between the toilet seat and the toilet bowl.

In practice, more than one bumper is positioned under the seat part of the toilet cover set. The bumpers used differ according to the type of the toilet bowl and the type of the toilet cover set and even the bumpers used in the front section of the toilet seat and the bumpers used in the rear section of the same may differ. For this reason, more than one type of bumper is provided in an unnecessarily great quantity along with the toilet cover set and the user is expected to use the ones that are suitable. This causes a cost increase and an unnecessary material consumption.

With the double-sided toilet cover bumper according to the invention, the necessity to provide to the user more than one type of bumper with different heights is eliminated, thanks to the ability to positioning the bumper which has two different protrusions each with a different height, in a way that the appropriate one of the protrusions of the bumper contacts the toilet bowl.

Object of the Invention

An object of the invention is to develop a bumper having two different protrusions each with a different height.

Another object of the invention is to develop a bumper wherein the protrusion height on one surface is different from the protrusion height on the other surface and the protrusion on each surface has a structure able to penetrate the housing on the seat part of the toilet cover set. Another object of the invention is to develop a bumper whereby a single bumper may be used on different surfaces by changing the mounting direction of the same.

Detailed Description of the Invention

The invention relates to a double-sided toilet cover bumper (3), which has two portions each with a different height and which is positioned on the bottom surface of the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set to prevent the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set from directly contacting the toilet bowl surface. More particularly, the invention relates to a double-sided bumper (3), which may be fixed via its both surfaces on the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set, each of the two different surfaces of which has a different height and which thus enables the distance between the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set and the toilet bowl surface to be adjusted depending on the surface of said bumper that is used in fixing said bumper on the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set.

The double-sided bumper (3) according to the invention comprises in its most basic form at least one middle portion (4), which abuts the surface of the seat part (6) when mounted to the bumper housing (61) of the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set; a first bumper portion (1), which is located on a horizontal surface of the middle portion (4) and which penetrates the bumper housing (61) of the seat part (6) or contacts the toilet bowl surface depending on the manner of mounting the bumper (3) to the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set; and a second bumper portion (2), which is located on the other horizontal surface of the middle portion (4) and which penetrates the bumper housing (61) of the seat part (6) or contacts the toilet bowl surface depending on the manner of mounting the bumper (3) to the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set. The first bumper portion (1) and the second bumper portion (2) each has a structure capable of penetrating the bumper housing (61) located on the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set.

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the first bumper portion (1) and/or the second bumper portion (2) rise(s) in a manner perpendicular to the horizontal axis (5) of the middle portion (4).

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the first bumper portion (1) has at least one first bumper portion contact surface (12), which will contact the toilet bowl surface when the bumper (3) is positioned in the toilet cover set such that the second bumper portion (2) penetrates the bumper housing (61) of the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set. Said first bumper portion contact surface (12) is the surface of the first bumper portion (1) that is farthest from the horizontal axis (5). Similarly, the second bumper portion (2) has at least one second bumper portion contact surface (22), which will contact the toilet bowl surface when the bumper (3) is positioned in the toilet cover set such that the first bumper portion (1) penetrates the bumper housing (61) of the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set. Said second bumper portion contact surface (22) is the surface of the second bumper portion (2) that is farthest from the horizontal axis (5).

In the bumper (3) according to the invention, the distance of the first bumper portion contact surface (12) from the horizontal axis (5), i.e. the first bumper portion height (11), is greater or smaller as compared to the distance of the second bumper portion contact surface (22) from the horizontal axis (5), i.e. the second bumper portion height (21). In this way, the distance that is present between the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set and the toilet bowl surface when the first bumper portion (1) is positioned into the bumper housing (61) of the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set is different from the distance that is present between the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set and the toilet bowl surface when the second bumper portion (2) is positioned into the bumper housing (61) of the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set, and as a result, it becomes possible to use a single bumper (3) together with different toilet covers or different toilet bowls or in the front and rear sections of the same toilet bowl and of the same toilet cover by changing the mounting position of said bumper (3).

In a preferred embodiment of the invention, both the first bumper portion (1) has a first bumper portion height (11) capable of penetrating the bumper housing (61) of the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set and the second bumper portion (2) has a second bumper portion height (21) capable of penetrating the bumper housing (61) of the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set. Accordingly, it is desired that the first bumper portion contact surface (12) or the second bumper portion contact surface (22) does not contact the seat part (6) when the portion of the bumper (3) that has the smaller height is positioned into the bumper housing (61) of the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set. For this reason, the middle portion width (71) and/or the middle portion length (72) of the bumper (3) is/are greater as compared to the first bumper portion width (71) and/or the first bumper portion length (72) and as compared to the second bumper portion width (71) and/or the second bumper portion length (72). In this way, when the first bumper portion (1) or the second bumper portion (2) is positioned such that it penetrates the bumper housing (61) of the seat part (6), the middle portion (4) abuts the seat at a certain point and thus prevents the bumper (3) from advancing any further.

The first bumper portion width (71) and the first bumper portion length (72) and the second bumper portion width (71) and the second bumper portion length (72) are dimensioned such that they are able to penetrate the bumper housing (61) located on the seat part (6), whereas the middle portion width (71) and/or the middle portion length (72) is/are dimensioned so as to prevent the middle portion from penetrating the bumper housing (61) located on the seat part (6).

With the toilet cover bumper (3) according to the invention, the distance between the horizontal axis (5) of the bumper (3) and the toilet bowl surface, i.e. the distance between the surface of the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set and the toilet bowl, may be changed by changing the direction in which the bumper (3) is fitted to the bumper housing (61) of the seat part (6) of the toilet cover set, and accordingly, it becomes possible to use a single bumper (3) in different parts of the same toilet cover, in different toilet bowls and in different toilet covers.
