Abstract:
A drive controller of a vehicle comprises a mechanism having a first engagement element and a second engagement element and allowing the first and second engagement elements to engage by rotating at least one of them by means of a prime mover. A control means allows the first and second engagement elements to engage under such a state that a differential rotation in a predetermined direction is imparted previously between the first and second engagement elements. Consequently, variations in direction in which the first and second engagement elements collide against each other can be eliminated at the time of the engagement. Therefore, a strange feeling can be prevented from being imparted to the crewman of a vehicle at the time of the engagement.
