Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and a device for detecting drowsiness of a driver in a vehicle. An embodiment of the present invention relates to a drowsiness detection method for detecting drowsiness of a driver by a drowsiness detection device, the method comprising the steps of: starting a mode for detecting the normal heart rate of a driver; analyzing a first waveform; if the first waveform is normal, then detecting the normal heart rate and storing in memory; starting a mode for detecting the current heart rate of the driver; analyzing a second waveform; if the second waveform is normal, then detecting the current heart rate; and if a difference between the current heart rate and the normal state heart rate stored in memory exceeds a preconfigured difference range, generating an alarm signal.
