Description:
DRUM CENTERING MECHANISM OF CARPET DRYING MACHINE Technical Field

The invention relates to the rotation productivity of the drum after the residential objects such as carpets, mats are put in the drum for drying the same quickly when they are washed The invention particularly relates to the bearing of the element known as drying drum. Background of the Invention

Today, there are a lot of different methods for drying the products such as carpet, mat used as floor covering in houses, workplaces and cars after they are washed. However, the most commonly used mechanism for drying said carpets and mats in recent years is to allow the water on the product to be removed by the effect of centrifuge by rotating the drum very fast after the carpets and mats are put in a drum in horizontal position. Said drum has been made in perforated or tubular form in many applications. The reason for this is to allow the water on the carpet to be removed through such hollows. Various driving elements are used for rotating said drum in drum mechanism. While belt and pulley mechanism is used in certain applications, centering and bearing the drum during rotation of the drum is extremely important for the productivity of the mechanism. Forces occurred owing to the drum's own weight and the weight of the wet products inside it reaches the extent which is difficult to control. The fact that bearing the drum is not realized in desired safety and productivity will cause the life of the mechanism to be short. Mechanical life is a quite important criterion due to the fact that the elements forming the whole mechanism is costly. One ring covering the drum and the wheels pressing the ring in multi directions are mentioned in the application of utility model no. TR201 1/03894 titled "one bearing mechanism for carpet squeezing machines". However, said wheel structures cause problems with respect to allowing said centering the drum and proper rotation In the application of utility model titled "drum mechanism for drying carpet" made in 2009, the drum formed by bringing a lot of tubes together is rotated by driving it on the basis of single-sided belt and pulley principle; on the other hand, a bearing is formed with two wheels placed from the underside of the drum. Additionally, a bearing has been assembled on the part of the drum having a contact with the wheels. Presence of two wheels forming a bearing on the drum is insufficient against balance movements which the drum may experience during rotation. In the application no. 2013/14984 of utility model titled "Ndless carpet squeezing and drying machine", while the drum is driven by belt and pulley system from one side; and on the other hand, said drum is centered by four wheels. However, in this application, said wheels are mounted from a single point. Press force is applied to the wheels due to the weight of the drum. Resistance value to such weight force is rather low point due to assembly of the wheels to the base frame from a single point. Centering wheels are unable to resist to such force in the course of time and loses their functionality. Drum cannot be rotated properly following loss of such centering function. In conclusion, inadequacy of the studies carried out for a long-time and efficient implementation of said rotation movement during rotation of the drum in high speed in present technique requires a new design.

Additionally, in case of replacement of the wheels supporting the drum due to corrosion of such wheels, process of replacing the wheels is rather difficult under the weight of a rather heavy drum. A study is not available for elimination of such difficulty.

Objective of the Invention

Objective of the invention is to properly center the drum machines used for drying the objects such as carpet and mats and allow them to be used for a long time.

Objective of the invention is to allow the use life of the wheels used for centering the drum to be increased. Another objective of the invention is to prevent balance movements to occur during rotation movement of the drum.

Objective of the invention is to allow costly products such as bearing to be designed for the connection between the drum and the wheel.

Another objective of the invention is to prevent vibration of the mechanism during operation due to additional press force on the drum during the rotation of the drum by an eccentric rotation movement of the wheels used in centering the drum.

Another objective of the invention is to eliminate the negative effect of the drum's weight during replacement or maintenance of said wheels.

Detailed Explanation of the Invention

In detailed explanation of the invention, it is mentioned that the apparatus put in one drum (1 ) for drying the objects such as carpet and mat after being washed and these objects are rotated very fast in this drum (1 ) and caused the wetness on such objects to be removed by centrifuge effect; and the mechanism developed in order that balance movements to occur on this drum (1 ) in the course of time can be prevented and the apparatus allowing the drum(1 ) to be suspended during the revision of this mechanism.

In side view of the drying machine in Figure-1 , drum (1 ) is rotated by the driving pulley from one side and centered by supporting wheels as it is in prior technique. However, centering problems explained under the title "background of the technique" do not occur in this design. In present technique, all centering wheels had the same sizes of diameters and were assembled from a single point in the flanges positioned. Therefore, use life of the present wheels is rather short and rotation problems of the wheels appear to be drum (1 ) adjustment. As it can be seen in Figure-3A, drum is centered by two lower wheels (3) at the bottom and two upper wheels (2) at the top. Upper wheels (2) have been positioned by eccentric shafts (4) in order to form an additional pressing force on the drum (1 ). In Figure-3B, the way upper wheels (2) create an effect on the drum (1 ) by the impact of the eccentric shaft (4) is shown. In Figure-3C, eccentric shaft (4) is illustrated in detail. Upper wheels (2) are assembled on the eccentric hub (4.1 ) located on the axle of the eccentric shaft (4).

In this way, upper wheels (2) are rotated eccentrically with the rotation of the eccentric shaft (4). Both upper wheels (2) with eccentric rotation movement allow downward pressing force to be applied to the drum (1 ) through momentary pressing forces. In Figure-3B, contact status of both upper wheels (2) for synchronized press centering on the drum (1 ) is illustrated. Rotation tour numbers vary in rotation movement made by round elements with different diameters by driving each other and depending on the size of the diameter. In this design, following one tour of rotation of the drum (1 ), lower wheels (3) and then, upper wheels (2) are rotated more. In other words, circles with small diameters make more tours of rotation than the big circles with which they are connected.

Bearing is formed for the shaft elements on the lower wheel (3) and the upper wheel (2) from two points in the front frame (5) as being different from the prior technique. In prior technique, wheel shafts lost their geometric forms in a short period of time due to the bearing of wheel shafts from a single point. Front frame has been manufactured in two parts in order to eliminate this disadvantage. One of the parts forming the front frame (5) is front flange (5.1 ) and the other is back flange (5.2). The reason for formation of the front frame (5) in two parts is to ensure bearing of the shafts of upper wheel (2) and the lower wheel (3) from two points. In Figure-1 and Figure-2, front flange (5.1 ) and the back flange (5.2) forming the front frame are illustrated. The fact that linear shaft (7) mounted on the lower wheels (3) and the cma shaft (4) mounted on the upper wheels (2) are assembled on the front flange (5.1 ) and the back flange (5.2) have allowed said shafts to be more resistant to the bending forces arisen from the drum (1 ) weight In Figure-4, the mechanism applied in order that the drum (1 ) does not lose its position during replacement or maintenance of the wheel embodiments mentioned above is illustrated. However, weight of the drums (1 ) creates a complicating effect in protection of this position. A mechanism called suspension hook (8) has been developed in order to eliminate this problem. Suspension hook (8) is in "U" shape as it is seen in Figure-4. Upper claw of the suspension hook (8) is attached to the upper part of the front frame (5); and the lower claw is attached to the inner hollow of the drum (1 ).

Suspension claw is fastened by the hook shaft (8.1 ) following said attachment process. In this way, weight of the drum (1 ) is suspended. Then, maintenance and repair works of the drum (1 ) is easily performed.
