Abstract:

A drum type washing machine allowing vibration and noise to be reduced at the time of dewatering by eliminating an unbalance of a load around a rotating shaft of a drum due to maldistribusion of washing, wherein a plurality of water storage tanks (20) opened to the inner peripheral side are provided around the rotating shaft located at the rear of the drum (3) and, when an eccentric load caused due to maldistribusion of washing exceeds an allowable value, a water filling valve (14) is opened while the drum (3) is rotated to lead water into each water storage tank (20) and the water is held by a centrifugal force, and then the drum (3) is decelerated temporarily at a timing according to the position of the eccentric load so as to allow to fall down only the water in the water storage tank (20) positioned at the same position as or closely to the position of the eccentric load in order to reduce the weight of the water storage container, whereby the eccentric load due to maldistribusion of washing is canceled by an eccentric load produced by the water storage tank filled with water and the water storage tank not filled with water to eliminate the load imbalance of the entire drum (3).
