Abstract:
Provided are a drying device and an image recording device that can reduce damage to a recording medium and a conveyor belt and can effectively perform drying in accordance with the device environment, when conveying the recording medium, to which a liquid has been added, using the conveyor belt and heating the recording medium to dry the liquid. The problem is solved by the drying device configured such that: the conveyor belt includes an electrically conductive layer and is provided with a plurality of suction holes that are for sucking a recording medium; a second belt heating unit is disposed at a position sandwiching a low-pressure chamber with the conveyor belt, and in the second belt heating unit a plurality of coils for performing electromagnetic inductive heating on the electrically conductive layer are disposed side by side in the belt width direction that is perpendicular to the conveyance direction; the low-pressure chamber is formed of a non-magnetic material; a second surface of the conveyor belt is supported by a heat insulating member; and the heat insulating member has a communication hole which communicates between a support surface thereof that supports the second surface of the belt and a low-pressure space.
