Abstract:
[Problem] A disc brake adopted for a vehicle wheel and the like generates and spreads powder dust and pollutes air during braking, and the powder dust is a pollutant that adheres to and contaminates the surroundings and that also impairs the exterior appearance. In particular, such a case is prominent on wheels of an automobile, and maintaining the wheels in a clean condition requires considerable effort. Provided is a dust collector that collects the powder dust to inhibit pollution. [Solution] A dust collector mounted to a disc brake for a vehicle wheel: comprises a guard 1 and a filter 2; and further includes a space 9 formed by the filter 2, the guard 1, and a back plate 6, wherein the guard 1 has, directly above the bottom plate thereof, an exhaust port 1A that obtains a sucking action due to airflow generated during travel.
