Provided is a dust control function-equipped electric grinding machine that facilitates opening/closing operations of a window (6) for exposing a part of the outer circumference of a grinding disk (4) from a cover (8) when grinding along a wall, and that is not liable to cause problems in handleability and dust collecting performance even after repeated use. The window (6) for exposing a part of the outer circumference of the grinding disk (4) is coupled to the cover (8) by a hinge mechanism (7) in an openable and closable manner. The position of the rotation axis of the hinge mechanism (7) is disposed over the cover (8). The window (6) is provided with a protruding gate (34) including a cylindrical portion (33) disposed coaxially with the rotation axis. The cylindrical portion (33) is partially provided with a cut face (36) that forms, when the window (6) is completely closed, a passage hole (35) parallel with an upper face of the cover (8) between the upper face of the cover (8) and the cylindrical portion (33). A slider (39) is provided on the upper face of the cover (8). The slider (39) is urged by a piston spring (45) so as to protrude toward the window (6) at all times. The end of the slider (39) passes through the passage hole (35) to come into slide contact with the upper face of the window (6). A torsion spring (47) that urges the window (6) in the opening direction at all times is provided around the rotation axis of the hinge mechanism (7).
