Description:

Title: EARRING OF THE TYPE PIERCING THROUGH THE EAR'S LOBE, PROVIDED WITH A PARTICULAR CONNECTING ELEMENT

DESCRIPTION

According to the model conceived, an earring is created comprising the traditional pin piercing through the ear's lobe and having the end provided with an annular groove adapted for engaging with the connecting element which holds the earring itself in the desired position, with the peculiarity that said connecting element, characteristic of the present finding, can be connected to a different ornamental element so that the conceived earring becomes reversible, to the individual's choice.

With the essential purpose of obtaining an earring having such reversibility feature, the connecting element to be connected to the piercing pin consists of a capsule of elastic material connected to a bottom centrally provided with a hole for the passage of said piercing pin.

The capsule itself exhibits at the top thereof, around the pin passage hole, a plurality of elastic lips adapted for adhering to the piercing pin for holding the earring in the desired position, and also adapted for engaging in the annular groove at the end of the pin itself for holding the earring for preventing the accidental loss of the same.

The connecting element thus conceived allows receiving an ornamental covering and hiding item such as a pearl, a ball of precious metal or something else, which encloses the capsule itself making the earring reversible and in this way making it gain a different ornamental appearance at both the two ends . The main purpose of obtaining an earring with the feature of being reversible has been achieved by the present finding which, in accordance with the contents of the first claim, is characterised in that the connecting element comprises a capsule of elastic material connected to a bottom centrally provided with a hole adapted for receiving the pin piercing through the ear's lobe, capsule that exhibits at the top

thereof a plurality of elastic lips adapted for adhering to the piercing pin for holding the earring in the desired position, and for engaging in the annular groove at the end of the pin itself for holding the earring preventing the accidental loss of the same

The above purpose will appear more clearly from the description of a preferred embodiment, made by way of a non- limiting example, and shown in the annexed drawing tables and pictures, wherein: - figures 1, 2, 3 and 4 respectively show a side, plan, median and perspective view of the capsule adapted for holding the earring into position; figures 5, 6, 7 and 8 show as many views of the closing bottom of the capsule itself and provided with the passage hole for the pin; figure 9 shows the capsule applied for example to a spherical ornamental item that hides the capsule itself and the pin, coaxial with the same, in the application step for making up the earring, - figure 10 shows the made up reversible earring.

The connecting element comprises the capsule of elastic material 1 connected to a bottom 2 centrally provided with a hole 3 adapted for receiving pin 4 piercing through the ear' s lobe . Capsule 1 exhibits at the top thereof a plurality of elastic lips 11 projecting from the same and adapted for adhering to the piercing pin 4 (figure 10) for holding the earring in the desired position, and engaging in the annular groove 41 at the end of pin 4 for preventing the spontaneous reciprocal separation between pin 4 and capsule 1, which would allow the accidental loss of the earring itself.

It is clear that the connecting element comprised of capsule

1 and of bottom 2, can be covered with any ornamental item such as a pearl 5, a stone of any nature and colour, an object of precious metal of any shape and surface finish, and similar decorative items.

At the same time, the opposite free end of pin 4 comprises another ornamental item 6 consisting for example of a precious or semi-precious stone of any nature and colour, suitably fixed or set.

In this way, the conceived earring becomes reversible and the decorative appearance thereof can be selected as desired by the individual when the earring itself is applied to the ear' s lobe .
