Abstract:
Artificial marble and a method for manufacturing same are disclosed. The present invention relates to eco-friendly artificial marble which can exhibit natural beauty by the pulverization of grain husk or fruit peel and addition of same when artificial marble is manufactured, and to a method for manufacturing same. Artificial marble of the present invention, which is artificial marble using an unsaturated polyester resin or an acrylic resin, comprises 5-80 parts by weight of grain husk powder other than common additives, with respect to 100 parts by weight of the unsaturated polyester resin or the acrylic resin, wherein, as the additives, with respect to 100 parts by weight of the unsaturated polyester resin or the acrylic resin, 10-100 parts by weight of one or more thermoplastic low-profile additives selected from PS, PE, and PVAc, 200-300 parts by weight of aluminum hydroxide as an inorganic filler, 10-100 parts by weight of color chips, 5-100 parts by weight of polyvinyl alcohol fiber as a reinforcing material, 0.1-5 parts by weight of an organic peroxide as a curing catalyst, and 5-30 parts by weight of an internal release agent as a release agent are added.
