Abstract:
This eddy current rail brake device (1) includes a magnet array (10), a support member (3), a case (4), and a lifting device (5). The magnet array (10) includes a plurality of permanent magnets (2) arranged in a traveling direction of a railway vehicle. The magnet array (10) is attached to the support member (3). The support member (3) has magnetism. The case (4) accommodates the magnet array (10) and the support member (3), and has a nonmagnetic bottom portion (8) facing the magnet array (10). The lifting device (5) lifts and lowers the support member (3) inside the case (4) while the magnet array (10) faces the bottom portion (8). According to the eddy current rail brake device (1), the adhesion of foreign matter can be suppressed, and the length in the left-right direction can be shortened.
