Abstract:
Provided is an editing system capable of performing time-shift playback or time-shift editing with a general-purpose playback apparatus or editing apparatus. An editing system X is provided with an accumulation server 1, a recording apparatus 2, a playback apparatus 3, and an editing apparatus 4. A storing means 100 of the accumulation server 1 causes footer data 210, which is necessary for creation of a footer in a container format file, to be stored in a storage unit 11, in addition to video data 200. A dummy reference means 110 uses, at a specified timing before recording of the video data 200 is complete, the stored footer data 210 to create a footer which puts on the appearance that the recording has been completed, and associates the created footer with the video data 200, thereby allowing a dummy file 220 adapted to the association to be referred to in place of the video data 200. A playback editing transmission means 120 transmits the dummy file 220 as the container format file, thereby enabling time-shift playback or time-shift editing during recording to be performed.
