Abstract:
Provided is an elastic wave device with which, even when miniaturization has advanced, it is possible to increase a Q value, to reduce spuriousness in an elastic wave resonator, and to suppress spuriousness in filter characteristics. An elastic wave device comprises: a piezoelectric layer 2 formed from lithium niobate or lithium tantalite; and a plurality of pairs of electrodes having a lengthwise direction, the pairs of electrodes facing in a direction that intersects the thickness direction of the piezoelectric layer 2. When a bulk wave of a thickness slip primary mode is used, or when d is the thickness of the piezoelectric layer 2 and p is the distance between centers between adjacent electrodes among the plurality of pairs of electrodes, d/p is 0.5 or less. The plurality of pairs of electrodes have at least a pair of first electrodes constituting a first elastic wave resonator, and at least a pair of second electrodes constituting a second elastic wave resonator. With respect to the direction orthogonal to the lengthwise direction of the first electrodes in the first elastic wave resonator, the direction orthogonal to the lengthwise direction of the second electrodes in the second elastic wave resonator forms an angle that is greater than 0° and less than 360°.
