Abstract:
Provided is an elastic wave device that is able to increase element capacity, and that is capable of spurious suppression. This elastic wave device 10 of the present invention comprises: a piezoelectric layer 16 that has a first main surface 12a and a second main surface 12b facing each other, and that consists of lithium niobate or lithium tantalate; and an IDT electrode 11 that is provided on the first main surface 12a of the piezoelectric layer 16, and that has a plurality of electrode fingers (first and second electrode fingers 24, 25). When d represents the thickness of the piezoelectric layer 16, and p represents a distance between the centers of adjacent electrode fingers, d/p is 0.5 or less. The electrode fingers have first and second electrode films 26, 27. The first and second electrode films 26, 27 respectively have first and second surfaces facing each other in the thickness direction, and side surfaces. In each of the first and second electrode films 26, 27, when θ1, θ2 represent the angle of the corners formed by the side surface and the first surface, and W1, W2 represent a width of the first and second electrode films 26, 27, θ1 ≠ θ2, and W1 > W2.
