Abstract:
Provided is an electric brake apparatus capable of enhancing the redundancy when an abnormality has occurred in a predetermined sensor and further enhancing the control accuracy. A control device (2) controls an electric motor (4) on the basis of a sensor abnormality detecting means (20) for determining whether a pressing force sensor (Sb) is normal or abnormal, and on the basis of an estimated sensor output estimated by use of an output from an angle sensor (Sa) or a current sensor (23) when the pressing force sensor (Sb) is determined to be abnormal. When the pressing force sensor (Sb) is normal and a vehicle is stopped, an estimated sensor output of the pressing force sensor (Sb) is estimated by use of an output from the angle sensor (Sa) or the current sensor (23), irrespective of the operation condition of a brake operation means (24), so that the electric motor (4) is controlled. The estimated sensor output of the pressing force sensor (Sb) estimated by sensor substitution control is compared with an actual sensor output from the pressing force sensor (Sb) so that the accuracy of the sensor substitution control is checked.
