Abstract:
This electric brake is provided with: a brake mechanism which transmits a thrust force generated by means of the drive of an electric motor to a piston which moves a brake pad that is pressed against a disk rotor; a thrust force sensor for detecting the thrust force on the piston; and a rear electric brake ECU which, on the basis of a detected value from the thrust force sensor, controls the drive of the electric motor on the basis of a braking command. The rear electric brake ECU drives the electric motor, and learns the detected value from the thrust force sensor when the piston is moved in the direction pressing against the disk rotor, to the extent that the brake pad does not contact the disk rotor, as a reference point for the piston thrust force.
