Abstract:
Provided is an electric brake device capable of eliminating instances of insufficient motor output and enabling reduction in both switching losses and cost. The electric brake device (1) comprises: an electrically-operated linear actuator (DA); a power supply device (3); a command means (17a); and a friction brake (BR). A control device (2) switches on and off a connection between the power supply device (3) and an electric motor (4) according to a switching period and includes a switching control means (20) for controlling the duty ratio for the switching on and off and thereby controlling the voltage to be applied to the electric motor (4). The switching control means (20) includes a switching period determination part (23) for causing the switching period to become longer when the braking force command value and/or an estimated braking force value estimated by a braking force estimation means (21) is larger.
