Abstract:

The present invention provides an electric machine with which output can be increased while demands relating to external form are satisfied, by improving the degree of freedom in terms of structure. In a rotating electrical machine (M1), an armature portion includes armature cores (H1, H2), and a plurality of coils (CL) which are attached to an armature core (H1). A field portion (Fs) is capable of rotating relative to the armature portion, and includes a plurality of magnets (Mg) and a plurality of field cores (22N, 22S). In the field portion (Fs), the magnets (Mg) are disposed between two field cores (22N, 22S) that are adjacent to one another in the direction of rotation. The armature cores (H1, H2) are separated from one another in a direction intersecting the direction of rotation. The armature cores (H1, H2) each include a magnetic pole set (G1, G2). The magnetic pole set (G1) included in the armature core (H1) and the magnetic pole set (G2) included in the armature core (H2) constitute magnetic pole set pairs (P) which form magnetic paths by way of the field portion (Fs). The armature cores (H1, H2) are magnetically separated from one another. A closed magnetic circuit is formed by at least two magnetic pole set pairs (P).
