Abstract:
This control device is for controlling the operation of an electric motor configured so that a rotational shaft thereof can be rotated by an external force. The control device is characterized in that: when it is detected that a voltage between input terminals on the power supply side of an inverter circuit is at least a prescribed voltage necessary for performing servo control on the electric motor, the electric motor is subjected to servo control by the inverter circuit; and when it is detected that the voltage between the input terminals on the power supply side of the inverter circuit is less than the prescribed voltage, a short circuit is formed in the inverter circuit, causing a dynamic brake to be applied on the electric motor.
