Abstract:
An internal combustion engine (1) is coupled to a transmission (2) via a torque converter (3), and the transmission (2) includes a continuously variable transmission mechanism (5) and a clutch (6). When the transmission (2) is switched from the P range to the D range, a rotational speed (Ne) of the internal combustion engine (1) decreases due to the engagement of the clutch (6). In order to suppress a stall in a cold region, when a speed difference (ΔN) between the engine rotational speed (Ne) and a transmission input rotational speed (Ntmin) becomes a predetermined speed difference (ΔN1) or more, the electric power generation of an alternator (15) is stopped to reduce an electric power generation load. After the lapse of a predetermined time (Δt1) since the transmission input rotational speed (Ntmin) becomes a second predetermined rotational speed (Ntmin2) or less, the electric power generation is restarted.
