Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an electric power steering device of the vector control type which performs ideal inverter dead time compensation without requiring a tuning operation, improves current waveform distortion and improves current control responsiveness, exhibits a significant effect during low-speed steering, and suppresses noise, vibrations and ripples. [Solution] An electric power steering device of the vector control type which converts a dq-axis current command value calculated on the basis of at least the steering torque into a 3-phase Duty command value, drives and controls a 3-phase brushless motor using a PWM control inverter, and applies assist torque to the steering mechanism of the vehicle, wherein a 3-phase detection voltage is estimated on the basis of a 3-phase motor terminal voltage, loss voltage caused by inverter dead time is estimated from the difference between the 3-phase detection voltage and the 3-phase command voltage calculated from the 3-phase Duty command value, and dead time compensation is performed by feeding back the dead time compensation value used in loss voltage compensation to the dq-axis current command value. A compensation amount improvement unit may also be provided.
