Abstract:
This electric toothbrush comprises, inside a main body (1) having a head part (4), a neck part (3), and a grip part (5) along the vertical axis direction, a gyro sensor (16) for detecting the angular velocity of the main body (1). An angle (θ) formed by the vertical axis of the main body (1) when the bristles of the head part (4) are contacting a tooth row brushing site (BP) and the vertical axis of the main body (1) when the bristles of the head part (4) are contacting a tooth row reference position (BPO) is found on the basis of the output of the gyro sensor (16). A correspondence point (P) corresponding to the brushing site (BP) on an approximation curve (E1) curved in accordance with the tooth row is found on the basis of the angle (θ), and the coordinates of the correspondence point (P) are set as a translation position (P) of the brushing site (BP).
