Abstract:
This electric toothbrush (2) comprises: a handle part; a brush head part (6) which is rotatably connected to the handle part and extends along a predetermined axial line (20) from the handle part; a brush (8) implanted in the brush head part (6); and a first drive unit which is disposed on the handle part and causes the brush (8) to perform a brushing operation. The electric toothbrush further comprises: a second drive unit which is disposed on the handle part and causes the brush head part (6) to rotate about the predetermined axial line (20) with respect to the handle part; an operation detection unit which detects an operation of a user; and a control unit which controls the second drive unit in response to the detection of a user's operation by the operation detection unit. Therefore, it possible to provide an electric toothbrush (2) which can enhance the brushing effects of brushing teeth.
