Abstract:
An electrical connector and an electrical connector assembly, the electrical connector comprising: an insulating body and, fixed thereupon, a first set and a second set of electrically conductive terminals, a metallic grounding strip, and an external shielding casing. A first docking cavity is formed at the front end of the external shielding casing and a second docking cavity is formed at the rear end of same; an insertion space is formed between the flexible extension arm of the first set of electrically conductive terminals and the flexible extension arm of the second set of electrically conductive terminals. The electrical connector assembly comprises the described electrical connector and a printed circuit board, an insertion portion whereof can be inserted into the described insertion space to be flexibly clamped from above and below between the flexible extension arms of the first and the second sets of electrically conductive terminals, and to be electrically connected. The present invention can prevent the occurrence of solder skips at the conductive terminals, and allows the positioning of an electrical connector to be adjusted for flexibility of installation.
