The present invention relates to an oil skimmer for removing and collecting oil that floats on the water surface when an oil spill occurs in a river or at sea, and more specifically, to an electrically-driven, self-propelled oil skimmer which does not use a heavy hydraulic engine and hydraulic lines and can thus be manufactured to be lightweight. The oil skimmer has a rotating drum having a disk installed therein, onto which petroleum (oil) is adsorbed between floating bodies provided on both the left and right sides of a body unit to enable floatation on the water surface, wherein a space for storing the oil collected from the disk of the rotating drum is formed to allow the oil collected in the space to be rapidly supplied to a command ship through a motor and a pump. Thus, the oil skimmer is able to easily collect floating oil while being stably self-propelled on the water surface.
