Abstract:
Provided is an electrically powered brake device with which it is possible to increase the durability against heat in an electrically powered motor for the electrically powered brake device. This electrically powered brake device is provided with a brake rotor, a friction member, a friction member operation means for bringing the friction member into contact with the brake rotor, an electrically powered motor (4) for driving the friction member operation means, and a control device (2) for controlling brake force through the use of the electrically powered motor (4). The control device (2) has a degree-of-thermal-equilibrium estimation means (19) for estimating the degree of equilibrium in the amount of heat from a plurality of magnetic excitation coils (4c) in the electrically powered motor (4), and a thermal load equilibrium means (23) for lowering the amount of heat from specified magnetic excitation coils (4c) among the plurality of magnetic excitation coils (4c) when the amount of heat from the specified magnetic excitation coils (4c) is estimated by the degree-of-thermal-equilibrium estimation means (19) to be greater than the amount of heat from other magnetic excitation coils (4c).
