Abstract:
An electrode according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises a collector and an active material-containing layer that is formed on the collector. The active material-containing layer contains a lithium-nickel-cobalt-manganese composite oxide and a lithium-cobalt composite oxide. The pore size distribution of the active material-containing layer as determined by mercury intrusion porosimetry has a first peak top that shows the maximum intensity I1 within the pore size range of from 0.1 μm to 1 μm (inclusive) and a second peak top that shows an intensity I2 that is the highest intensity after the maximum intensity I1 within the pore size range of from 0.1 μm to 1 μm (inclusive). The pore size of the first peak top is smaller than the pore size of the second peak top. This electrode satisfies the following formulae (1)-(3). Formula (1): 0.15 ≤ I2/I1 ≤ 0.40 Formula (2): 0.31 ≤ X1/(X1 + X2 + X3) ≤ 0.55 Formula (3): 0.7 ≤ T2/T1 ≤ 1.6
