Abstract:
An electrolytic capacitor 1a comprises: a resin molding 9 having a capacitor element 20 and a sealing resin 8 sealing a periphery of the capacitor element 20, the capacitor element 20 including an anode 3 having a porous portion 3b in a surface thereof, a dielectric layer 5 provided on the surface of the porous portion 3b, and a cathode 7 opposing the anode 3 with the dielectric layer 5 therebetween, the resin molding 9 further having a first end surface 9a and a second end surface 9b opposing each other in a length direction L and a first side surface 9e and a second side surface 9f opposing each other in a width direction W orthogonal to the length direction L; a first external electrode 11 connected to the anode 3 exposed from the first end surface 9a of the resin molding 9 and provided on the first end surface 9a; and a second external electrode 13 connected to the cathode 7 exposed from the second end surface 9b of the resin molding 9 and extending from the second end surface 9b to a part of the first side surface 9e. The capacitor element 20 is covered with the sealing resin 8, the first external electrode 11, and the second external electrode 13. The second external electrode 13 includes a first electrode portion 14 provided on the first side surface 9e of the resin molding 9. The first electrode portion 14 includes a first electrode end portion 14a positioned in contact with the first side surface 9e of the resin molding 9 and most toward the first end surface 9a of the resin molding 9 in the length direction L. When viewed from a thickness direction T orthogonal to the length direction L and to the width direction W, the capacitor element 20 and the first electrode portion 14 oppose each other in the width direction W in a first region AR1 in which a distance W1 between the capacitor element 20 and the first electrode portion 14 in the width direction W is shorter than a distance W2 between the capacitor element 20 and the first electrode end portion 14a in the width direction W.
