Abstract:
An electromagnetic contactor (1) comprising: arc extinguishing chambers (S) that are each provided with a contact point section (6); a case (3) that has an arc extinguishing chamber housing section (9) in which the arc extinguishing chambers are housed; and an arc extinguishing cover (7) that is mounted to the case and covers the arc extinguishing chamber housing section. At least one of the case and the arc extinguishing cover has first engagement sections (22, 24) and second engagement sections (23, 25), and the other has third engagement sections (26, 28) that engage with the first engagement sections and the second engagement sections. The case retains the arc extinguishing cover in a first condition, in which the first engagement sections are engaged with the third engagement sections, or in a second condition, in which the second engagement sections are engaged with the third engagement sections.
