Abstract:
An external container surface-sterilizing apparatus for sterilizing preforms (P) using an electron beam irradiated thereon from an electron beam irradiation device. The external container surface-sterilizing apparatus is equipped with a container-conveying device (21) for holding and conveying preforms (P), a container-rotating device (26) that is provided on the container-conveying device (21) and is for rotating the preforms (P), and a magnetic driving force-transmitting mechanism (31) for contactlessly transmitting a driving force with a band-shaped magnetic body (32) and a circular magnetic body (33) of the container-rotating device (26). In the magnetic driving force-transmitting mechanism (31), both the band-shaped magnetic body (32) and the circular magnetic body (33) that are moved while facing each other separated by a specified gap have magnet arrays in which magnets of differing magnetic poles are alternately disposed.
