Abstract:
An electronic device and an operating method therefor are provided. The electronic device comprises: a display; a plurality of optical sensor units arranged so as to respectively correspond to a plurality of divided areas of the display; a memory for storing one or more instructions; and a processor for executing the one or more instructions stored in the memory, wherein the processor can control the display, by executing the one or more instructions, so as to: determine the intensity and direction of external light, incident on each of the plurality of divided areas of the display, by using the plurality of optical sensor units; determine a shadow area on the display on the basis of the determined intensity and direction of the light corresponding to each of the plurality of areas; and provide a shadow effect on the determined shadow area by allowing the determined shadow area to be superimposed on an image being displayed on the display.
