Abstract:
Image data obtained from an image sensor are stored in a memory. In order to print an image, a printing head is driven by the image data read line by line from the memory while the printing head is moved in the vertical scanning direction, and an instant film is exposed line by line. When the exposed instant film is fed out through a spread roller, developer is applied to develop the film. Alternatively, while the instant film is fed out, the printing head is driven synchronously with the feed to print the image by one vertical scanning without moving the printing head. An array of three color light emitting devices is provided in the printing head, and the lights of the colors are projected onto the instant film simultaneously. When the power supply switches off an electronic still camera is turned on, the camera is automatically set up in a shooting mode. When a reproduction mode key and a printing mode key are respectively operated, the mode is immediately shifted to a reproduction mode and a printing mode, respectively. Even when the mode of the camera is the reproduction mode, the mode can be shifted to the image pickup mode immediately by pressing a shutter release button.
