Abstract:
Provided is an electrostatic-charged image developer that is capable of suppressing fogging in both a high-temperature, high-humidity environment and a low-temperature, low-humidity environment; and is capable of maintaining a toner transfer quantity close to that at initial printing, even after continuous printing, while maintaining excellent low temperature fixing performance. The electrostatic-charged image developer contains colored resin particles containing a binder resin and a colorant, and an external additive, and is characterized in that: the external additive contains plate-like zinc oxide microparticles having an average long diameter of 50 to 2,000 nm, and a value, S, obtained by dividing the average thickness (d) of particles by the average area (A) of the base of the particles, is 0.0001 to 0.03 nm-1; and the content of the plate-like zinc oxide microparticles is 0.05 to 1 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the colored resin particles.
